The Creation of ECOMBO
The idea of an ECOMBO trailer was born in 2014 when Yogi knew his hunting trips could be significantly improved with more comfortable sleeping arrangements. Traditional caravans or vans weren't an option for the off-road, bushwhacking trips.​
He put his thoughts to pen and created the first custom-designed ECOMBO trailer on a scrap paper. At home he incorporated all the features on his wish list into an off-road cube-like sturdy trailer and took his plans to a local manufacturer. His mates demanded a warm shelter too, so the massive awning was added.
2017
NZSAR
NEW ZEALAND SEARCH AND RESCUE

​Rescues are common in New Zealand, where outdoor recreation is popular. Every year, many people get into trouble in the bush, mountains, rivers, lakes or coastal waters. Therefore, NZSARS needed a mobile respond center for remote areas to keep rescue stuff warm, fed, rested with autonomic power sources. More often than not a search and recsue mission lasts a few days.
Once New Zealand Search & Rescue ordered an ECOMBO, the bedroom had to be changed into an mobile office and other little adjustments were made. Suddenly the camper not only made Yogis hunting trips easier, but helped to smooth the process of saving lives. Happy days.
2018 - 2022
FROM BOYS' TRIPS TO FAMILY CAMPING EXPIDITIONS

Word soon spread about this custom camper that could be taken anywhere. All kinds of outdoorsie people began to ask for more designs and features, families, retired couples with dogs, athlets with sports gear and of course the classic bush hunters. Yogi put his thinking cap back on and designed an universal model, that includes a double bed, bunk bed, kitchen, seperate shower and toilet (meeting the new self contained regulations).
2023
ALL YEAR ROUND LUXERY IN A CUBE

As Yogis own family extended it become clear that winter camping trips needed to be just as comfortable as in summer. Again back to on drawing board the most luxerious model has evolved. A suitable fire place got sourced and improved, awning adjusted for a chimney draught skirts tailored and awning poles for hard grounds added.
